Gesturing the Mix and the Montage, 2016, depicts a figure navigating the cliffy

landscape of the California coastline. The figure, clothed in a morph suit,

performs spontaneous gestures of digitally compositing and editing video. This

piece re-imagines the physical process of film making that has since been

disembodied through the emergence of the digital editing platform. Gesturing the

Mix and the Montage features time-lapse and jump cuts that mimic the

movement of the figure’s hands.
